A self portrait if you will.

One of my very first Blunts in my old boat. Not to vertical but I am forever training and practicing.
Chatting with a Jake while riding the burrito wave. No Jake is not my imaginary friend he is just in the eddie on the side where you can't see him.
Shortless the most comfortable way to paddle.

A few adventures.

Welcome to my office! We saw the most amazing rainbow that I have ever seen the colors were so vibrant. This photo does no justice to how vibrant it really was. This is what I get paid to do for a living.
It would appear that Molly is standing in a key hole of sorts. Molly, Jordan, Bryce, Gill the dog all joined me for a day away from the heat and the river up in the La Sal mountains out of Moab, Utah.
The tube that runs under Owhaa Lake in the La Sal Mountains out of Moab.
Jordan has a strong resemblence to a sasquatch don't you think.
Molly going out on a limb. She never did fall in. Though the group of us did go swimming and man we swam that lake fast for fear of the hypotherm. You should have seen me in my Speedo. Oh So Hot.
Its Owhaa lake and I. The rest of the photo with the excception of the ones that I am in are some of my adventure photography shots. A littl hobby of mine. These first few are from Little Cottonwood 5 minutes from where I grew up at.
An unknown climber on the Sail in Little Cottonwood Canyon.
Marty with the Salt Lake valley in the background.
Marty plugging gear. Congradulations on getting married buddy. The rest of these are from a trip to Joes Valley. I was joinned by a few friends Mike and Tyler. Tyler was the reason I got so strong this past winter. Curse my competative streak. My fingers still haven't fully recovered.
The one shot of me on this particular trip. Sporting the former mohawk on a stout V9. It took me 3 attempts to send. A few of our other friends that we work and play with. Shannon Spotting Mike on a V12 just up from "They call him Jordan!". No sends on this problem but good progress.
At this point our skin and muscles got tired and the heat got to us. Taking a break in the Mansize area. Tyler in blue putting on the shoes for another go and Mike just relaxing.
Mike in Joe's. Tough guy at 4 foot 9 inches pulling a long move for me on a V10.

Tyler slaps the jug on a V9 doing the right variation the harder of the two variations. Go Big Tyler! Anarchy Area in Joe's Valley. We totalled up the actual amount of time we spent bouldering and it came out to be about 13 total hours, OUCH!

Another day on the water.

Well, as you may or may not know I am a river guide during the summer time I am based out of beautiful Moab, UT. Anyways, I was sent out on a Westwater trip today orginally to be a solo trip with myself and 5 passengers just for the day. A father and his twos sons out of the D.C. area, and a couple out of Iowa. I often wonder why they would come all the way out to little old Utah. Infact it is one of the first questions I will ask just to see where people are coming from. I get the best answer after I get off a trip such as the one that I had today. A few of my coworkers had the day of and we had plenty of room on our launch so the loaded on a little paddle boat and a kayak for my good friend Brian and away we went. Now it is about a 99% chance that something will happen and make the trip hard or interesting wether something is for gotten or and accident in the rapids (which dosen't happen that often) anyways any number of things can go wrong. This trip though was destine to be flawless. An easy rig, no problems at the ramp, good passengers. We put on the water with myself on the row boat with 3 passengers and all the gear. A good friend Eric guiding the paddle boat with two other guides and to passengers and Brian in his kayak. We cruised down just above the rapids and had some lunch. Then we dropped into the rapids. I had never seen it at this level so I was a little nervous, deffinetly had the nervous pee. Well we greased it! for those that may not not the river lingo this means we had and amazing ride. I hit all of my lines prefect with some huge hits that got the D.C. folks jaws to drop. The paddle had the best run throught that section I had ever seen a paddle boat have. Brian was showing of his mad skills in his kayak and taking on the big hits without flinching. This is the kind of trip that you try for all summer. I have been luck and had many trips of this nature this summer. This is one of many reasons why people venture out to little old Utah. The most amazing part is that the pay and trust me to take these people in to this beautifully desolate desert in to these potentially life threatening situations when I would do it for free.
