Tis the season

As many of you know we have reached the time of the year where days start getting shorter. For may of us this is a dreaded time of the the year. For me it is this way for many reasons. The one that I am reffering to is the depression that comes with more darkness. Today it hit me. My clinically diagnosed depression is making a stand yet so to am I. This is my least favorite time of the year.

Well it finally happened.

My many different activities over the past little bit finally caught up to me today. Juggling school several jobs and my deep routed obsession for playing hard and traveling. At first my body was pretty tired from work and training and what not then was the trip to the City of Rocks last weekend. I ended up with a head cold and was working 10 hour days till I flew to Boise to help set routes for a climbing compition that they had. Two days there then its back to Utah for more route setting for a compition here in town. Lunch and a stop in the park to lay in the sun was a welcome retreat. Now to get an idea of the amount of climbing you do when setting routes you have x amount of settters who set x amounts of routes usually between 40 to 60 routes trying and tweaking till you get it right. Once all of the routes are set you proceed to climb them all. This helps you get an idea of what they should be rated. So three solid days of that. A late night last night and early work this morning. When I got home I comletely crashed. I mean I was out physically exhausted. I slept harder then I have in months and months. Now I am refreshed and ready to do it all over again. Who wants to play?!?

The old days

I was just sitting here waiting for a friend and looking through A friend of mine named Bob AKA "Psyhco Bob" Now Bob is the true embodyment of a climber. I would love to be as hard core as he is. You see bob lives down in central utah where I used to go to school. One day my roomates and I were up maple canyon playing on a 5.13 a/b called Captain Bullet. Bob comes driving up and we get to talking. I noticed his movements were very difficult. I asked him about it and he told me this story. He was out bolting a route one day as he had done hundreds of times before. He rapped in and began to do his thing when something went wrong. Not sure really what happened Bob decked from about 45 feet Paralyzing him from the waist down. He has since gained movment back in one of his legs but has very little control of the other. Now here is why this guy is climbing. I have seen him lead 5.10s were he will stop clip abolt clip the rope then proceed to grab his bad leg and and move it by had and smear his knee on the rock and pull trough it. You will never hear him wine about it. He lives as though he were pulling hard .14s. Anyways, check out his site. killerclimbs.com there is a shot of yours truely in the photo section on Captain Bullet. Of course this is back a while in the fall of 2001 it was my second thirteen ever. I ended up campusing the crux. The stories I could tell you from having three roomates that climb and where really dedicated to it. Wow the strange mis adventrures that we had.

Horray for boyancy!!!!!

This is the plan for the weekend. It is called Sixth Water. I will have video and regular photos of this little gem for everyone to enjoy.

Posting two days in a row!

Well, again I write. I had a moment today which I realized has actually extended into the past few weeks. As some of you may know I don't really bother with religion one way or the other. Yet thes past few weeks I have been exposed to two different ends of the spectrum as far as religion is concerned in this region that we live in. For instense it was conference weekend for the mormon religion. I spent a bit of time listening to the talks and teachings of general authoritys and others. Then today I went to work framing in the rain and running around on a wet roof, I love my job! Anyways all of my co workers are close friends of whom I hangout with on a regular basis. Each of which is a very highly intellegent person whom chooses this line of work for the lifestyle that it allows. The point I am getting at though is that they are each return missionaries whom through their studies of various books from the book of mormon to philosophy books and life experiences have gone inactive. We at work have very interesting discussions on their veiws of religion as well as my own. Here is where I am heading with this little bit of writing. I think it is so cool that whom ever you are, what you go through for learning and education and the accepting of whatever belief system that you choose as long as it has as little negative effects on those around you can bring happiness and comfort to your life. So keep persuing that higher knowledge of whatever it may be that brings you closer to what it is that you want.
Also I realize that I have so very little color on my blog at the moment and my camera is still without battery power. So for you visual stimulation here are a few of my adventure shots and some landscapeshots. There is only one that is of me see if you can guess which one it is. Its almost like an interactive blog. Enjoy! More to come.

The things we do for fun.

Slippin sliding, tunnel kayaking, sleep overs, frisbee, Gymnasctics gym, bouldering, learning to roll a kayak, explosions, confrence, FRIENDS and FUN! Those that are reading this probably already know what happened this weekend so I thou\ght that I would do a very short recap. By the way there were not really and explosions but you have to admit it would have been cool wouldn't it. Oh and you all have these really deep thought provoking quotes. Which are very cool by the way. Anyways, I have a borderline unhealthy obsation with Jack Handy more with his deep thoughs then the actual man. So I will end this little entrie with one of his literary works of art.

"If your robbing a bank and your pants fall down, I think its ok to laugh. and to let the hostages laugh to, because come on, life is funny." Jack Handy
