BRRRRRRR!!!!!!

So my first trip of the season is in the books. It was one of the better ones I have had. A group of college students booked a trip down Desolation canyon. Now we don't typically start to run trips until mid May. Yet they were set on doing so. So my self and Karen another of the guides that has been around for a while where the one comissioned to run the trip. We set out monday and after a six hour drive to the put in, we rigged out our boats and started off down stream. We had found out that the beautiful weather we were having was going to take a turn for the worse. We made it 28 miles that first day and set up camp. Had a delicious dinner sat by the fire and went to bed. We awoke to refreshing freshly dusted snow capped buttes. Karen and I whom together have logged alot of miles on the river both agreed that it was the coldest river trip we had ever been on. It was so cold that we had people wrapped in tarps and where perpossly avoiding what we could to keep everyone dry. It was a bit weird rowing away from the big waves I have never done that before. We got every kind of weather from rain and hail to sun and snow. These temps compiled with 4 days of rowing 20+ miles a day along with cooking meals, loading and unloading boats, and entertaining passengers we are about to drop from exhaustion. The great thing is we made some really cool new friends. Each and everyone of these college kids had an amazing attitude considering the situation. We joked, laughed, talked, goofed off, made fun of each other and had an amazing time. So thank you to the students of Witworth college for the memories and making the trip as easy as possible.
