The name is Marcus. I try to live for the experience and the story after. Most of the time I will be out and about on the water or up a route. I live in Salt Lake City, UT. The adventurous type or I like to think so. Other then that ask me or read it. Enjoy the blog or don't.

Its been a while.
So I haven't posted in a while thought I have had a lot going on. Every time I get on to blogger I think I should post but nothing really seams worth writing about these days just the same old. Work, Climbing, and enjoying life. I have a new kayak so I am excited for spring and the water that will flow. I will be going to either Patagonia, Chile or to guide in New Zealand next winter. Tolman and I are starting work into the 5.13 range and getting stronger all of the time. If things continue on this path then we will hopefully be able to give .14's a good run come spring.
Above is a logo for the American Mountain Guide Association. This is my big news. I have been fighting with the idea of going back to school and the more I think about it the more that it isn't right at this moment. So instead I am going to get my AMGA certification. I will be recognized internationally as a climbing instructor/Ski guide/mountaineering guide. My knowledge and expertise will be expansive. It will cost like school and take a few years to complete. Yet it pays well and I can work anywhere doing what we all know I love very much, CLIMBING.
I will have to take and pass courses in all three disciplines.

congrats on getting strong and climbing hard!!!! can't wait to belay ya on those 13 and 14's!!!!
Marcus, that is so great! Getting a BS degree is really the low risk route that doesn't always have the greatest returns. I think that technical training and certification in something you love and you're good at is really smart. I was way impressed with you this summer-- you are a natural born crowd pleaser and have all the skills necessary for guiding. I think you're going to be a great guide!
ow i see our last fewweeks of climbing havent been importent to you thats it its over , jk cant wait to help you get sertifed we can go to the needles and do that one rout ya you know what one im talking about.
