Lets see a week or so ago Kori came down to moab for some time away from idaho since she just finished a semester. Sunday we went down Westwater canyon in southern Utah. It was a bit cold yet still always a good time. With some friends of hers we biked porcupine rim the next day. The amounts of flats that happened with the group as a whole was amazing. It took us much longer to finish the ride then it really should have. Little Granite kept up like the trooper that she is even with the heat that was getting to her. We did a bit of climbing and hanging out with good friends.
Kori headed back to Idaho and I headed to Colorado for ACA certification. For three days we basically relearned how to kayak. I learned so much that I will not only be able to teach but that will improve my own ability and confidence. So I am now Certified and my teacher said that I am one of the most narturally talented paddlers he has seen that if I keep working at it I will be paddling some amazing things. That was an amazing compliment coming from a prffesional paddler. After class we went deeper into Colorado to paddle on a section called Gore canyon on the head waters of the colorado river. It is a 9 mile class 4+ 5 section
This is gore rapid A class 5 munchy boulder choked monster that we only decided to run at the last second and it turned out to be the right choice. The adrinaline pumped!
This is Tunnel a 4+ with a 10 foot drop at the bottom that my brother ended up swimming in as his boat stayed in and churned for a while.
From there it was back to work riggin and heading out on Cataract canyon for 5 days. Aspen High school does a trip every year and it is a bunch of rich snobby kids that come and play. This year they were required to do most of the cooking and cleaning which made my trip really relaxed. We made it through just fine. I was feeling a bit confident in the canyon though and it let me know who was in charged. I got a little off my line in big drop 3 and now have a bruised rib after pin balling and coming close to flipping.

What up Marcus. That is crazy sick dude. I am so stoked to be rolling down their in a month to work and to hang with you and get to know the rest of the crew. I am so excited I am like a cockerspaniel and sometimes loose control and tinkle a little bit when I think about it. But it is an acceptable tinkle which is cleaned up after wards. Well I will talk to you later.
Peace. Hammy
